Favorite Simple Cookies with Frosting

I N G R E D I E N T S Cookies: ´ 1/2 cup margarine (I like butter though)

STEPS Cookies: 1. Cream together margarine (butter), sugar, eggs and vanilla. 2. Combine dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture. 3. Drop by teaspoon on greased (use parchment paper—it’s easier) baking sheet. 4. Bake at 350 degrees for about 8-12 minutes (I’m in high altitude, so it took 12). 5. Let cool for a minute or two and remove to baking rack to finish cooling. Frosting: 1. Beat butter in a bowl until smooth. 2. Add in powdered sugar, brown sugar, maple syrup and enough whipping cream (or half and half) to achieve the desired consistency. Beat until fluffy. 3. Frost cookies and top with chopped nuts, if desired.

´ 1 cup brown sugar ´ 1/2 cup white sugar ´ 2 eggs ´ 2/3 cup milk

´ 1 1 tsp vanilla ´ 2 3 cup flour (I use gluten-free flour of a 1-1measurement) ´ 1/2 tsp baking soda ´ 2/3 tsp salt (I use less) Frosting: ´ 1/2 cup butter (softened) ´ 3 cups powdered sugar ´ 2 Tbsps brown sugar ´ 2 1/2Tbsps pure maple syrup ´ 2 Tbsps whipping cream (substitute half and half, if you wish) ´ Chopped nuts if desired (pecans, walnuts ... whatever you like) Allergy warning: Just interchange the gluten free 1-1 flour withwheat or white flour. Don’t use nuts if you’re allergic. Dairy-funny story: I forgot the milk and they turned out just fine. You could use anymilk. I prefer almondmilk (when I don’t forget it!). Vegetarian & Vegan: N/A
